CardiacCrash uses an interactive, gamified approach to provide an enhanced CPR and AED learning experience targeted to workplaces, communities, and schools. It’s fast-paced and can be done in about an hour. It’s intended for those who want to learn the basics of CPR and AED use rather than completing intensive, certified training.

CardiacCrash portrays an emotional cardiac arrest scenario that reflects a true-to-life experience. Teams compete for points by answering questions correctly and winning their group’s hands-only CPR practice session.

  • CardiacCrash is designed to help people identify a cardiac arrest and give them the confidence and skills to act when they see someone experiencing a cardiac arrest.
  • It teaches the basics of CPR and AED use.

Despite the serious topic, the experience is fun, energetic, and a bit competitive. Expect your teams to cheer each other on and try to win by saving a life!

Participants can experience a CardiacCrash session in under an hour. This includes the introduction, the interactive film, time for group discussion, and wrap-up.

We recommend a minimum of 8 students and a maximum of 40 per session.

CardiacCrash is an interactive experience where participants will practice hands-only CPR at various points throughout the session. CPR equipment is required and there are so many options!

  • cprCUBE Lite is an alternative to traditional CPR materials and are available to order on the CardiacCrash store.
  • Do It Yourself (DIY) CPR Equipment -You may already have mannequins or CPR cubes, or may want to try DIY equipment instead. There are many fun options for you and your students to create your own CPR equipment with items you have at home. To learn more, check out our DIY Equipment Guide.
  • If you do not own CPR mannequins, you can procure Resuscitation Training appropriate feedback mannequins from these manufacturers.

No, CardiacCrash is an awareness program. Each participant can sign up to receive a CrashCard to show their participation in CardiacCrash. If you’re looking for a CPR certification course, visit Heart & Stroke’s resuscitation portal.

Facilitating a CardiacCrash Event

Choose the CardiacCrash experience that works best for your audience! Learn more about facilitator options.

You will complete the facilitator training online (schools can book a 15-minute session with us to learn how to run an effective session) and be ready to facilitate CardiacCrash immediately.

No, you don't need to have teaching or facilitating experience. The resources available will give you tips and tricks on how to run a session and engage your audience. The more you run sessions, the easier and more enjoyable they will become.

No. You do not need to be an expert at CPR. The film will provide all of the instructions on how to perform CPR and use an AED. The Facilitator's Resource Guide also has a handy "Frequently Asked Questions" section to help you answer questions about CPR that might come up during the post-film discussion.
